Gordon’s rolls out new fruit-flavoured gins

by Kate Malczewski

Diageo-owned Gordon's is growing its flavoured gin portfolio with two new expressions: Tropical Passionfruit and Morello Cherry.

By Kate Malczewski Gordon's Tropical Passionfruit Distilled Gin was designed to 'balance the juniper notes' of the brand's flagship gin with passionfruit flavours. The brand recommends serving it in a Passionfruit Martini, or in a twist on a gin and tonic. Meanwhile, Gordon's Morello Cherry Distilled Gin brings together tart cherries with the brand's London Dry spirit. Its suggested serve is in a riff on the classic G&T. Both expressions clock in at 37.5% ABV and are priced at RRP £16.50 (US$21.60) per 700ml. Tropical Passionfruit is currently available at Asda and Morrisons and will debut in other UK retailers in early April, and Morello Cherry is available exclusively at Sainsbury's. Last year, Gordon's gave its range a sustainability-focused packaging update. In 2020, the Diageo-owned spirit was the only million-case-selling gin brand to break even in terms of sales, selling 6.7m nine-litre cases. Based on this performance, Gordon's secured the title of Gin Brand Champion in The Spirits Business' 2021 Brand Champions report.
