Glenturret releases special-edition peated whisky

Glenturret distillery, home to The Famous Grouse blend, has unveiled a special-edition single cask peated whisky – the first release under new distillery manager Ian Renwick.

Renwick was named distillery manager of Glenturret following the retirement of Neil Cameron in August this year. The Glenturret Cask 100 Peated Drummond Edition, said to be “highly collectible”, has been hand signed by Renwick. Exclusively available from the distillery shop at an RRP of £145 (US$191), the expression is accompanied by a tweed gift bag and is said to have a flavour of “dry almonds and fired oak”. "Cask 100 is the first edition to feature 100% fully-peated Ruadh MaorGlenturret at a cask strength of 58.9%. It is a highly collectable single cask dram that's well worth the price tag,” said John Laurie, general manager at The Famous Grouse Experience based at Glenturret Distillery "Peated Drummond is now available for shop tastings and we plan to introduce it to our Finest Tasting Tray in the coming days." In June this year, Glenturret Distillery extended its limited edition Bottle Your Own cask series to commemorate world record holding mouser Towser, who died 30 years ago.
