Glasgow Distillery launches Prometheus 28 Year Old

The third Scotch whisky to join The Glasgow Distillery Company’s Prometheus range will be a limited-edition, cask strength 28-year-old Speyside single malt.

Bottled at 53% abv, only 888 bottles of Prometheus 28 Year Old have been created, each individually numbered and packaged in a presentation box. It has an RRP of £699 (US$990) per bottle and is available to purchase now from Glasgow Distillery. Though the company is not disclosing the distillery, the liquid is said to have hints of citrus, red apple, pear, biscuit caramel and spice. On the palate, consumers will be able to find notes of sweet malt, raisins, walnuts, oak, dark fruit, smoke and orange spice. Premetheus 28 Year Old follows the release of Prometheus 27 Year Old in 2016 and Prometheus 26 Year Old in 2015. Liam Hughes, CEO and co-founder of Glasgow Distillery, said: “Only a limited number of barrels are available of this very special spirit, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. “The smoky notes deliver a unique flavour experience and is the perfect dram to be savoured.” Earlier this year, The Glasgow Distillery Company unveiled Double Cherry Gin, the first expression in its limited-edition Single Batch Spirit Series.
