Fair brings taste of Mexico to UK

French spirits brand Fair has launched two new products inspired by Mexican ingredients in the UK, with a London restaurant listing.

Inspired by traditional Mexican ingredients, the Chipotle Liqueur features smoke and spice, while the Oaxaca Whiskey, distilled in Mexico from ancestral blue corn, is a welcome newbie on the increasingly popular world whisky stage. The new products have helped Fair to secure a listing at Shoreditch Tapas restaurant, Bibo, with the support of its distributor, Mangrove Global. Bibo will list at least five expressions from Fair’s range, including Oaxaca Whisky, Juniper Gin, Quinoa Vodka, Rum XO Belize, and Açai Liqueur. Paul Bungener, sales director for Europe and UK at Fair, said: “We wanted to expand our range and listings, so the introduction of these new SKUs and awards, along with Mangrove’s support, has helped us achieve that. "Bibo is a chain that’s as synonymous with quality as it is authenticity – and in that respect, it’s an ideal venue for our range of spirits and liqueurs. As the leading Fair Trade spirit brand, it’s important for us to work with partners who are aligned with our values – including venues like Bibo, who value ethically produced, flavourful ingredients.” The spirits and liqueurs will be featured in cocktails on the venue’s menu, and for every cocktail sold, £1 (US$1.3) will be donated to the Fair Trade Foundation. Managing director of Mangrove Global, Nick Gillett said: “We know that consumers are caring more and more about brand ethics when it comes to the planet and people. There aren’t many brands going to the lengths that Fair do to create products that are not only delicious but also doing a lot of good in the world. “This latest listing with Bibo will get Fair’s marvellous liquids on more lips and showcase how agile the range is to movers and shakers of the on-trade.” Fair was founded in 2009, and since its conception, the company’s ethos has been to create a spirit brand that has a 'positive impact on the planet and its people'.
