Espanita Tequila releases Signature Infusions collection
Female-founded brand Espanita Tequila has launched a collection of Tequilas infused with fruit.
Founded in 2017 by Marina Wilson, Espanita Tequila operates a distillery in Jalisco, Mexico, and creates Tequila at the high elevations of Los Altos de Jalisco. Crafted in small batches, Espanita’s Signature Infusions collection, made from 100% Blue Weber agave, features three flavours: Lime, Pineapple and Grapefruit. The recipes were created by Wilson and master distiller Beto Ramirez, with the two spending a year experimenting with different proportions of ingredients and maceration techniques. All of the flavours have Espanita’s Blanco Tequila as a base, with Mexican-grown, hand-sliced fruit macerated in the spirit for at least 45 days. The expressions are blended, cold-filtered and bottled at 35% ABV. Espanita Lime has tangy aromas of citrus with the ‘the mellow sweetness of white linden flower blossoms’. Espanita Grapefruit has ‘lively, sparkling’ citrusy aromas that develop into ‘bitter-sweet fragrant’ notes. Espanita Pineapple is ‘honeyed and earthy’ with citrusy undercurrents. “We are very proud that our new Espanita Signature Infusions bear the same hallmark of the brand’s impressive versatility as our other expressions,” said Wilson. “All three infused tequilas – Espanita Lime, Espanita Grapefruit and Espanita Pineapple – can be enjoyed chilled, on the rocks or with sparkling soda and a lime wedge for an easy refreshing Spritz. “We recommend trying Espanita Grapefruit Tequila in Paloma riffs, including Italian, Spicy and Ginger Palomas, and use Espanita Lime in a Margarita, Tommy Margarita, Ranch Water, Mexican Mule and Mexican Mojito. “Tropical, fragrant and sweet Espanita Pineapple Tequila adds a bright and exotic spin on Pineapple Margarita spiffs, Pineapple Mule and even Tequila Colada. “The imagination is the only limit.” The collection is available to purchase in 15 states and the District of Columbia, with more to be added next year. The brand’s core portfolio of handcrafted Tequilas includes the Artesano Collection, comprising three expressions: Blanco, Reposado and Añejo. Blanco is bottled fresh from the still, while Reposado and Añejo are aged in slightly charred American white oak barrels for six and 18 months respectively. In January, the brand also launched a double barrel-aged Tequila as part of the Barrel Reserve collection.
