Edwards 1902 releases festive liqueur
English spirits producer Elsham Wold Distillery has created a vodka-based Mulled Sloe Liqueur in time for the winter season.
Inspired by mulled wine and the ‘rich, bittersweet’ flavour of sloe berries, the new expression is a blend of seasonal spices, hand-picked sloe berries and Edwards 1902 vodka. The 20% ABV liqueur was created by the Elsham Wold Distillery team in small batches, blending the tartness of sloe berries, the smoothness of the potato vodka and the warming mulled spices. Edwards 1902 won a Gold and a Master award at The Vodka Masters 2020 blind tasting, and was applauded for its “fruity, chocolatey nose”. Edwards 1902’s Mulled Sloe Liqueur has an RRP of £26 (US$32) for a 500ml bottle and can be purchased directly from the brand’s website. The distillery suggests enjoying it neat, in a winter cocktail or warmed up. Last month, Elsham Wold debuted an English single malt as part of its Flarepath Series. The brand also created an elderflower liqueur in partnership with Bottlegreen, which won Gold at The Vodka Masters 2023. Lincolnshire-based Elsham Wold Distillery was founded in 2018 when three families came together with a mission to create premium spirits from natural, locally produced ingredients.
