Dewar’s replaces Signature with 25yo whisky

Bacardi-owned Scotch whisky brand Dewar's is to introduce a 25-year-old Royal Brackla cask-finished expression, at the same time as discontinuing its non-age-statement variant, Dewar's Signature.

Dewar's 25 Years Old is made up of malt and grain Scotch whiskies aged for 25 years or more, sampled and blended by master blender Stephanie MacLeod. The resulting whisky was then decanted into oak casks to mature further, before being transferred into freshly emptied into Royal Brackla casks for finishing. "Dewar's 25 is endlessly smooth, rich and elegant,' said MacLeod. "Awakened on the palate: the sophisticated whisky is glorious in its harmony and balance, gently revealing layers of rich fruit, floral notes and delicate honey, with a hint of smoke to finish." The whisky has been launched as part of a wider effort to reinforce the brand's "dedication and commitment to age statements" across its premium range. Fraser Campbell, global ambassador for Dewar's, said:" Disclosing the ages of our blends allows discerning whisky drinkers to choose an expression with a maturity and flavour profile that matches their own character preferences. "Dewar's remains committed to age statements as a sign of craftsmanship and quality. In a world where aged stock is increasingly rare, we are proud to display an age on the front of our bottles." Bottled at 40% abv, Dewar's 25 Years Old is priced at US$225, and will be available in Global Travel Retail from October, before rolling out to key domestic markets.
