Cotswolds expands Harvest series
English producer Cotswolds Distillery has released the third whisky in its Harvest series: Amber Meadows single malt.
Following the launch of the Harvest series Flaxen Vale single malt in September 2023, the third limited release in the series has been aged in Moscatel and ex-Bourbon casks. Limited to 1,500 bottles, Amber Meadows is a 'light and fruity' whisky with notes of scorched orange peel, marzipan and toasted coconut and a 'subtle touch of peat'. A new expression in the series is released once a year and celebrates the Cotswolds scenery through the art of painting and whisky selection. The region attracts artists and craftsmen from around the world who are drawn to the area by its natural beauty. The packaging design for Amber Meadows is an illustration produced by celebrated Cotswolds-based artist Lucy Pratt. The artwork depicts the beautiful colours and features of the landscape around the distillery at the most important time in the farming calendar. Cotswolds Amber Meadows is offered at 51% ABV and will be available exclusively at the distillery for £100 (US$131). The Cotswolds Distillery was founded in 2014 by Daniel Szor and focuses on premium small-batch gin and single malt whisky made with local ingredients. Last month, the company unveiled its new biodiverse Wetlands Ecological Treatment System to enhance its environmental efforts. Earlier this year, it partnered with the Israeli whisky maker Milk & Honey to honour industry legend Dr Jim Swan, who passed away in 2017. At the upcoming The Spirits Business Awards 2024, Cotswolds' distillery manager Alice Pearson is nominee for the Young Achiever of the Year award.
