Cognac Frapin unveils new look for VSOP

Cognac house Frapin has debuted a new look for its VSOP expression, revealed at Düsseldorf trade fair ProWein last week.

The new look glassware is said to take its inspiration from Frapin's VIP XO decanter, featuring a taller and narrower bottle than the original. The change also introduces alternative detailing on the neck and stopper. Frapin is the largest single estate in the Grande Champagne region of Cognac, taking its name from its similarity to the area of Champagne in terms of chalky soil. The VSOP is aged in Limousin oak barrels, which adds to the "complex" aromas of cinnamon, vanilla, flowers and orange. Cognac Frapin VSOP sells for around £55 and stocks of the new look decanter will be available in the UK from April. At last year's Prowein, the company unveiled a new look for its VIP XO expression.
