Broken Bones debuts cask strength whiskies
Slovenian distillery Broken Bones has released cask strength versions of its peated and non-peated single malts.
Joining the distillery's range of single malts, the cask strength releases are offered at a 56.5% and 57.5% ABV, higher than the 46% ABV of their counterparts. The brand said the new cask-strength whiskies enhance 'the intensity and concentration of flavours' of the single malts, while 'delivering a more robust and full-bodied experience'. The non-peated cask strength single malt was aged for three years, while the peated edition is offered between the ages of four and six. Both cask strength expressions retail for €155 (US$171) and are now available on the distillery's website. To commemorate the distillery's new still and mash tun, Broken Bones is also offering casks for private investors. As a special offer, the distillery is offering the first three casks filled with new make for €3,965 (US$4,375), VAT included, with subsequent casks priced at €4,270 (US$4,712) each. For those not ready to invest in full casks, the Slovenian spirits producer also offers 700ml cask shares for €30 (US$33) on its website and through Still in Cask. Earlier this year, the distillery announced it had sold 80% of its 2024 whisky allocation. Broken Bones Distillery was established in 2012 by Boštjan Marušič and Polona Preskar. It produces multiple spirits, including gin, brandy, and vodka.
