Brighton Gin marks Pride with special edition bottle

by Amy Hopkins

Brighton Gin is celebrating Brighton and Hove Pride with the launch of a special edition bottle design complete with a rainbow label and pink wax seal.

Just 400 special edition bottles have been created to mark the LGBTQ festival. A percentage of sales from each bottle will be donated to The Rainbow Fund – the Brighton and Hove based grant-giving fund for local LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS organisations. The limited edition will go on sale at independent shops across Brighton and Hove from 1 August. “Brighton Gin was created for good time boys and girls everywhere,” said founder and distiller and Out In Brighton presenter Kathy Caton. “We wanted to celebrate the free-thinking, campaigning and hedonistic spirit of Brighton, values which have made the city the obvious setting for the UK’s biggest Pride festival. “We’re so proud of that – and want to contribute to the essential work of the Rainbow Fund in supporting the city’s LGBTQ community and voluntary sector.” Brighton Gin, the first product from Brighton and Hove’s first licensed distillery, launched across the UK in 2015. It is produced by The Brighton Spirits Company and includes angelica, lime and milk thistle among its botanicals. Brighton and Hove Pride will take place from Friday 4 August to Sunday 6 August.
