Boutique-y launches Proper Pink Gin
Independent gin bottler That Boutique-y Gin Company has launched a pink gin designed to "take the spirit back to its 1800s roots".
Proper Pink Gin from That Boutique-y Gin Company takes its inspiration from the pink gin that was served aboard Royal Navy ships in the 1800s to prevent seasickness. Available in the UK exclusively through distributor Maverick Drinks, Proper Pink Gin is made with vacuum-distilled Angostura bitters and gentian tincture to create a pink liquid with a"bitter, lemon zest-y kick". On the palate, Proper Pink Gin is described as having notes of "caster sugar and a spicy blend of juniper and cardamom”. Bottled at 46% abv and with an RRP of £29.95 (US$37.90), the latest bottling from That Boutique-y Gin Company has been designed to be sipped neat or with tonic water and an orange slice to garnish. Last month, That Boutique-y Gin Company launched a perfume-inspired range of gins, which channelled the aromas of fresh rain, forests, funfairs and even Egyptian mummies.
