Booker’s Bourbon ‘Teresa’s Batch’ launches in US
Beam Suntory-owned Booker’s Bourbon has released the first limited edition whiskey from its 2019 Batch Collection, bottled to celebrate long-time distillery employee Teresa Wittemar.
Wittemar joined the distillery more than 30 years ago after being hired “on the spot” after a 15-minute interview with sixth generation master distiller Booker Noe. Throughout her time at the distillery, Wittemar has worked in the lab and in the quality control department where she blended Bourbon barrel samples to Booker’s taste profile specifications. Seventh generation master distiller Fred Noe selected the whiskey for Booker’s Teresa’s Batch, which has been aged for six years, three months and one day, and bottled at 62.95% abv. Tasting notes for the Bourbon include hints of brown sugar and light oak on the nose, along with vanilla, leading to a sweet and spicy finish. The 2019 Batch Collection will feature four limited edition expressions. It is available in limited quantities throughout the US for an RRP of US$79.99 per 750ml bottle. In December 2018, Booker’s celebrated the legacy of late master distiller Booker Noe with the release of a limited edition Bourbon.
