Beveland creates gin with AI

Spanish spirits company Beveland Distillers has launched Aigin, a gin co-created with artificial intelligence (AI).

Described as the latest innovation embodying the distiller's motto of 'spirit of excellence', Aigin is the result of Beveland's ambitious project to 'achieve new levels of efficiency and competitiveness’. The development of the new gin is based on algorithms capable of analysing more than two million combinations of ingredients, distillation techniques, and maceration methods. Aigin's aromatic profile is achieved with a blend of select botanicals, including lavender, hibiscus and lychee. Beveland emphasises that although technology contributed to the gin's creation, AI alone cannot produce it: "The passion and experience of the distillery team are the true driving forces behind this project." The gin is the company’s first AI-created distillate and is said to represent the balance between tradition, technique, and technology. Beveland is a family-owned company established in 1994 and based in the province of Girona in northeast Spain. The distillery's portfolio includes Jodhpur and Ginbery's gins, Krova Vodka, Relicario and Doble 9 rums, and Glen Silver's blended whisky. Beveland will showcase its spirits portfolio at ProWein from 16-18 March in Dusseldorf, Germany, at stand G55 at Hall 5.
