Belvedere Awarded Three Golds at ISC
Belvedere Vodka was awarded three gold medals at the 2014 International Spirits Challenge, which judged more than 1,000 brands from 70 countries. From the press release:
New York, NY, May 06, 2014 – Belvedere Vodka, the world’s first super premium vodka is thrilled to announce that Belvedere Vodka, Belvedere Intense and Belvedere Unfiltered were awarded gold medals at the 2014 International Spirits Challenge (ISC), one of the highest awards in the drinks industry. The wins mark another accolade for exceptional product quality from the most authoritative and respected spirits competition in the world.
“We are thrilled to win three gold medals from International Spirits Challenge 2014, including a repeated gold for our original – Belvedere Vodka. We are committed to the highest standards of quality and innovation in our products and receiving the distinction of three golds for our three flagship vodkas is truly an honor,” says Charles Gibb, President of Belvedere Vodka.
Belvedere Vodka was the first to create a new standard for excellence in the vodka category and is credited with creating the luxury vodka segment. Made from Dankowskie Rye and blended with water from its own pristine source, Belvedere Vodka’s taste profile is distinctively soft with a subtle sweetness and naturally smooth, clean finish.
Belvedere Intense is full-bodied, smooth, and possesses an intense aroma with notes of citrus, lemon-peel, mint, eucalyptus and menthol. On first taste, your palate detects a deep finish with notes of caramel, dark, savory spice and rich bitter chocolate. Double filtered through pure charcoal, Belvedere Intense is the perfect base for cocktails, mixed drinks and infusions.
Belvedere Unfiltered is vodka at its smoothest and most distinctive. Distilled four times from Dankowskie Diamond Rye, Belvedere Unfiltered delivers unrivaled richness and complexity in character; boasting aromas of baked bread and toasted nuts on the nose and a rich combination of salted caramel, sea salt and white pepper flavors on the palate. The finish is an exciting balance of salty and sweet, with notes of baked bread and vanilla.
“’We are once again thrilled to be recognized by the International Spirits Challenge for not one, but for all three of our Belvedere expressions. Each of these vodkas showcases the versatility of Dankowskie Gold Rye; its elegance, texture or intensity a clear distinction from our competitors. These awards are testament to Belvedere’s unparalleled ability to draw out only the finest characteristics from this magnificent grain and shape distinct vodkas that are perfect for mixed drinks and martinis.” says Claire Smith, Head of Spirit Creation and Mixology.
“A gold medal is only awarded if all the judges agree that a vodka meets our criteria for such an important award. This means that winning a gold medal is a significant achievement, but to win three gold medals is really impressive,” says Ian Wisniewski, chairman of the vodka judges.
Celebrating its 19th year, the 2014 International Spirits Challenge is the most respected and leading spirits competition in the world. This year ISC had more than 50 respected and experienced industry professionals participate in a blind tasting of various products and awarded scores for aroma, appearance, taste and finish – with Belvedere Vodka, Belvedere Intense and Belvedere Unfiltered being distinguished for their performance in their categories. With over 1,000 entries from nearly 70 countries, winning an ISC award is an impressive achievement for any spirit.
