Single malt Scotch whisky brand Balvenie has released the seventh bottling in its Tun 1509 series.

The Balvenie Tun 1509, Batch 7 is a non-chill-filtered whisky that has an ABV of 52.4%. The seventh release is made from liquid that has spent time maturing in a Sherry Hogshead, ex-Bourbon American oak barrels and Double Wood refill Sherry butts, the latter of which were used to finish the brand’s Double Wood expression before being filled with new make. A total of 21 casks were used to create Tun 1509 Batch 7. David Stewart MBE, malt master, said: “The Tun 1509 series has been hugely popular with whisky enthusiasts over the years and I’m in no doubt that this expression will receive a similar response. “Batch 7 showcases this remarkable liquid resulting in a deep and rich Balvenie. It is intensely spicy with sweet aromas of dried fruits, notes of candied orange peel, golden syrup and honeycomb on the palate.” The whisky is available now in 17 countries and select global travel retailers. It is available to purchase from select retailers such as The Whisky Shop, The Whisky Exchange and Hedonism priced at RRP £300 (US$387) per bottle.
