English Harbour 5 Year Old Rum
Distilled from Guyanan sugar cane molasses using a column still, this English Harbour rum is aged for five to eight years in ex-bourbon barrels. English Harbour rum is named after the scenic port on the Caribbean island of Antigua in the Leeward Islands.
Nose: Nose is oaky and fruity with notes of gentle stone fruits and spice.
Palate: The palate is full of orchard fruit notes, a little tropical fruit and winter spice, notes of smoke and tropical tiki cocktails.
Finish: The finish is sweet and spiced.
Comparing the flavors of the English Harbour 5 year old to the 10 year old, the 5 year old is rounder with stronger fruit characteristics, and while it is a dry spirit, it has the sweet aromas of molasses complemented by orange rind and coconut. The 10 year old has more structure, with spices and balanced wood notes providing additional layers to the foundation established by the 5 year old.
