I had a friend who used to rave about apple pie moonshine and I finally decided to try it when I saw it on the site. You get hit by alcohol vapors the second you open this. It is, for me, too potent. Once you get past the first hit of fumes, it honestly smells like Southern Comfort. To me, it tastes a bit like that too. When taken straight up, you get the warming notes of apple pie spices without anything, especially cinnamon, overpowering the experience. I mostly get a caramel taste, though, that keeps SoCo in mind. No apple flavor. Mixed with ginger ale to mellow the alcohol or treated like I do SoCo (which is an alcohol I love), this is a good drink, but it isn't what I expected. Because I wanted APPLE pie. Apple is apparently a very hard flavor to bring out in alcohol because I've tried a few now and seldom get the apple. As for the delivery, it was well packaged to make it safely from CA to WV and easily tracked with the FedEx app.
