About Bumbu Rum
In Barbados, rum isn’t just another spirit. It's the original rum island, where rum was first created some 400 years ago. The island spent the last few centuries perfecting the art of distilling and blending their country’s most famous export. At Bumbu Rum Company, they handcraft their rums from a blend of the finest sugarcane from across the West Indies.
Bumbu rum is exceptionally balanced and smooth, without sacrificing the richness and complexity that makes their Barbados distillery’s rum the world’s best. Their rum's heritage isn’t just historical – it’s geological. Unlike most Caribbean islands (formed by volcanos), Barbados was created by coral reefs. Here, the ground water is purified as it’s forced through our natural limestone, making Barbadian water some of the finest in the world. Distillers elsewhere must filter their water before using it in their process – not so here. This exceptionally pure water, coupled with carefully selected sugarcane from across the Caribbean and South America, lends the lightness and smoothness that’s central to Bumbu’s remarkable drinkability.
