WhistlePig teams up with Alice Cooper

Vermont-based whiskey producer WhistlePig has created an alcohol-free pre-mixed Old Fashioned cocktail infused with adaptogens in collaboration with American rock singer Alice Cooper.

The limited edition Sex, Drugs, Rock & Dry Old Fashioned is described as ‘a cocktail of non-psychoactive ingredients’ that incites sober fans to ‘go ham on other vices’, with 100% of profits benefitting the bartending community. The ready-to-pour cocktail has been crafted with WhistlePig’s non-alcoholic 100% Rye ‘Non-Whiskey’, barrel-aged maple syrup, adaptogenic cordycep mushrooms and schisandra berry, and the so-called aphrodisiac damiana. “Last year’s Dank January release showed us that fans are here to hang loose, whatever they’re sipping this month,” said Meghan Ireland, WhistlePig’s head blender. “No Dry January drinker should miss out on a high-quality Old Fashioned made with real, aged Rye ‘Non-Whiskey’, nor the freedom to be obscene (even if they’re clean).” WhistlePig refers to the serve as ‘a rock anthem in a glass’, with notes of summer berries, wild herbs, and flinty black pepper designed to ‘amp up your senses’. On the palate, candied lime takes centre stage with ‘a citrus riff’, while smoky mushroom umami ‘lays down a bass line’ of depth and balance. For the launch, WhistlePig has connected with Primary Wave Music and ‘the godfather of shock rock’, Alice Cooper. “I’ve been shocking audiences for years with snakes, guillotines, and enough fake blood to fill the Grand Canyon,” Cooper said. “But now these maniacs at WhistlePig have gone and shocked me with a non-alcoholic cocktail. Sex, Drugs, Rock & Dry Old Fashioned is a lethal injection of flavours proving you don’t need to be drunk to be punk.” WhistlePig’s Sex, Drugs, Rock & Dry Old Fashioned is available for sale as of 1 January for US$49.99 per 750ml bottle. The brand has also created a limited edition non-alcoholic rye-infused vinyl featuring Cooper’s album Breadcrumbs as a musical pairing for listeners. Buyers will get the chance to win an opportunity to ‘tee off and turn up’ with Cooper himself at a 'once-in-a-lifetime' golf outing and listening party. The limited Go Pig Go Bundle includes the cocktail as well as the rye liquid-infused vinyl for US$199.99. Limited to 250 units, pre-sale purchases of the Bundle will be delivered in two instalments, with the Sex, Drugs, Rock & Dry Old Fashioned shipping immediately, followed by the liquid vinyl in spring 2025. With the release, WhistlePig is supporting bartenders and service workers with 100% of profits from the Sex, Drugs & Rock Dry Old Fashioned sales donated to Giving Kitchen, a nonprofit providing emergency assistance across the US for food service workers through financial support and a network of community resources. Giving Kitchen founder Jen Hidinger-Kendrick said: “We are so grateful to WhistlePig for partnering with Giving Kitchen to support the resilient food service workers and bartenders who bring joy to our lives. Their generous partnership allows us to provide vital assistance and resources, ensuring no one in our industry faces crises alone. Together, we are supporting a community that truly rocks.”
