Tullibardine adds 18YO whisky to core range
Terroirs Distillers-owned Tullibardine has welcomed a 18-year-old single malt to its Signature collection.
Distilled in 2005, the expression has been matured in both first-fill Bourbon and Sherry casks, and features vanilla, caramel and cream soda on the nose, with spices such as nutmeg cinnamon and candied ginger to taste, plus a hint of brown sugar. The finish is described by the Highland distillery as being 'smooth and buttery’. Mike Elliott, Tullibardine Distillery's general manager, spoke of his excitement for the new release: ''We see this, alongside the 15-year-old, as a graduation from the rest of our Signature Range in terms of complexity and flavour profile and we can’t wait for people to try it." In addition, Tullibardine 18 Year Old comes with 100% recyclable packaging decorated in illustrations from Scottish artist Bryan Angus, which portray scenes and features of the distillery. This style of packaging is said to ‘reflect a new era at the distillery with a focus on craft and the people that create it’, and can also now be found on the 15-year-old single malt – which has been given a design repackage as well. The whisky, bottled at 43% ABV, will be available globally at the end of September, priced at RRP £90 (US$111.66). Earlier this year, Tullibardine was busy at The Scotch Whisky Masters blind tasing, notably winning Gold for its 500 Sherry Cask Finish.
