Top Cuvée debuts House Vermouth
London-based natural wine bar Top Cuvée has expanded its House label range with the launch of House Vermouth.
The 14.9% ABV vermouth has been crafted with a lighter style, offering crisp citrus and juicy peach notes complemented with bitter wormwood. It has been designed to be served neat or with soda. Top Cuvée founder Brodie Meah said: “We sold around 1,000 bottles of vermouth last year on Shop Cuvée, and we predict that it will be a hip drink to order this summer. “With the launch of House Vermouth, we want to simplify how to serve vermouth and make it accessible to more people. To do this we are putting our own spin on the classic flavour profile with a lighter style that showcases the wine, is not too sweet, and yet flavoursome enough to mix with soda.” Made using the fruit-forward Castelao from Alcobaca, Portugal, as a base wine, the all-natural formula also includes an infusion of peach stone, bitter orange peel and lemon peel, alongside lemon thyme, bay leaves, cardamom and rosemary. This is combined with an orris root and gentian-infused English grain spirit. The ‘versatile’ natural vermouth is best served neat or enjoyed with soda for a lower ABV aperitif. The unique character and light nature of the House Vermouth is also ideal for making cocktails. To celebrate the launch, Top Cuvée has launched a limited edition ‘heatwave weekend sale’ until 24 June. For every degree above 25°C the temperature reaches in London, the price of House Vermouth will drop by £1 from Shop Cuvée online and in-store at Shop Cuvée branches in Blackstock Road and Bethnal Green Road. The bar will also host a party at its Bethnal Green wine bar, Cave Cuvée, in August where guests can enjoy exclusive signature serves made with the House Vermouth. One-litre bottles of House Vermouth are priced at £25 (US$30.61) and are available to purchase from Shop Cuvée.
