Diageo is seeking to capitalise on the growth of the ready-to-drink (RTD) market with the launch of two bottled Tanqueray and tonics.

Tanqaueray London Dry Gin and Tonic and Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla Distilled Gin and Tonic will be available in the UK off-trade from the end of May. The two “premium” pre-mixes are presented in bespoke glass bottles topped with a screw cap to reflect the brand’s full-sized 700ml format. Mixed with a “premium crafted tonic”, the RTDs are available as 275ml single serves or in a 4 x 275ml pack. Both varieties are bottled at 6.5% abv. “We’re really excited to be launching two premium and quality-led RTD innovations so that customers can enjoy a perfect Tanqueray serve every time,” said Rich Larkin, head of Diageo Reserve GB. “As we step into the summer season, we’re confident that the Tanqueray and Tonic premixes will be the perfect addition to shopping baskets for occasions across the off-trade – including at home, picnics, barbecues, garden parties and festivals.” The multipacks (£10/US$12.60) will be available from Ocado and Amazon at the end of May, while the the single serve bottles (£3/US$3.80) will launch in Waitrose, Ocado and Amazon at the same time. The launch follows the release of new data that shows the rapid growth of the global RTD market. Earlier this month, Fever-Tree entered the pre-mixed category with the launch of three varieties of bottled gin and tonics.
