Gruppo Campari-owned Skyy Vodka is tapping into consumer trends for natural ingredients and pear-based products with the launch of Skyy Infusions Bartlett Pear.

Developed from natural ingredients, Skyy Infusions Bartlett Pear is said to be ideal for autumnal cocktails, offering notes of “freshly ripe pear with bright juicy flavour, finished with a dry and crisp taste”. The Bartlett pear is the most widely grown and sold pear in America and accounts for 50% of the pear crop, according to Gruppo Campari. "Consumer demand for natural tasting products has been the driving force behind the success of the Skyy Infusions line," said Richard Black, vice president of marketing, white spirits and cordials, Campari America. "Repeat purchases of Skyy Infusions made a sharp uptick in 2015. It is clear that consumers and bartenders alike are looking for more authentic, fresh fruit flavours in their cocktails." Skyy Infusions Barlett Pear will be featured at on- and off-premise sampling events and through the brand’s upcoming Skyy Holidayy promotion. The variant will also be highlighted in marketing campaigns throughout the season. The new flavour joins the range of permanent Skyy expressions which includes Citrus, Honeycrisp Apple, Tropical Mango, Coastal Cranberry, Texas Grapefruit, Pacific Blueberry, Georgia Peach, Vanilla Bean, Moscato Grape, Wild Strawberry, Pineapple, Blood Orange, Passion Fruit, Cherry and Raspberry. SKYY Infusions Bartlett Pear is 70 proof (35% abv), is available in 50ml (US$1.99), 750mL ($13.99), 1L ($16.99) and 1.75L ($19.99). According to Gruppo Campari's half-year results released in August, Skyy achieved growth of 2.7% over the period, however the Skyy Infusions line suffered from “category weakness” in flavoured vodka.
