Sapling Spirits partners with The Pig
Spirits producer Sapling has teamed up with The Pig hotel group to create a limited edition, zero-waste coffee vodka.
The expression blends Sapling’s 100% British wheat vodka with leftover coffee granules from The Pig’s hotels. The group serves up ‘hundreds of thousands of lattes, cappuccinos and espressos’ a year, with the spent grounds going to compost until now. Plus, for every bottle sold, Sapling Spirits will plant a tree. The vodka is available exclusively from The Pig’s online shop for £40 (US$50). Only 1,000 bottles have been created. Guests staying at one of The Pig’s hotels can also order the coffee vodka at the bar. Both brands aspire to have sustainability at the forefront of their operations. Earlier this year, Sapling Spirits created a vodka using ‘wonky’ fruit, with the goal of fighting food waste. Ivo Devereux, co-founder of Sapling Spirits, said: “Since we started working with The Pig hotels, we have been excited to see what we could create together. “The team shares our passion for sustainability and ethical practices.
