Renais Gin lands in the US
Renais Gin, co-founded by siblings Emma and Alex Watson, is entering the US market for the first time since its launch in 2023.
Following the announcement of US expansion plans last December, Renais Gin has officially launched in the US. The gin is now available direct-to-consumer across 40 states and in selected California retailers for US$65 (€61). Additionally, Renais has released a limited edition sleeve exclusive to the US. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce a distinctive and innovative gin to the US market – one that welcomes everyone into our family – and launching within California’s long-standing heritage in winemaking feels perfect,” said Alex. Emma and Alex were motivated to create Renais more than three decades after their father, Chris Watson, planted their vineyard, Domaine Watson, in Chablis, Northern France. Renais is made from leftover pressed grapes from the family’s wine estate. The gin is sustainably distilled and married with all-natural native botanicals, including juniper, Grand Cru grapes, Cubeb berries, Kimmeridgian stone, Acacia honey, Linden flower, lemon peel, lime, Angelica root, rock salt, and coriander seed. “Embracing decades of experience in the beverage industry, we’ve worked hard to turn Renais into a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of Burgundy. We’ve meticulously sourced the finest ingredients, embraced sustainable manufacturing practices and infused our family legacy into every detail possible,” said Alex. In addition to minimising waste using recycled grape skins, Renais has a solar-powered distillery and its gin is certified carbon-neutral. The bottle comes in 100% compostable packaging made by the Magical Mushroom Company using mycelium. Renais has already made a strong impact in the British, French, Italian, German, and Australian markets, having sold more than 10,000 bottles. In the UK, the brand has been listed in more than 100 retailers in less than 10 months, including Selfridges, Soho House, The Savoy, Scarfes Bar, and Gaucho. To celebrate the expansion, Renais has also released an extended director’s cut campaign video directed and styled by Emma Watson.
