Ramsbury launches Lemon Balm Gin for summer
UK-based Ramsbury Distillery has introduced a seasonal addition to its portfolio, lemon balm-flavoured gin.
The 'vibrant and vivacious' London Dry gin is made with lemon balm grown on the company's Wiltshire estate, resulting in 'a well-balanced and elevated burst of citrus' flavour on the palate. The fresh leaves are harvested directly from the Ramsbury Distillery garden and steeped overnight in the still with 12 other house botanicals. Lemon Balm Gin is recommended served with 150ml of tonic water and a garnish of lemon. The palate offers 'a zesty and herbaceous lemon flavour, balanced with traditional gin notes of a classic London Dry, ending on a crisp and citrus finish'. The limited release is part of Ramsbury’s ongoing experimentation with produce grown on its estate, showcasing innovation and its commitment to local, sustainable ingredients. Lemon Balm Gin is offered at 40% ABV and is now available at the distillery and its website, with a suggested retail price of £36 (US$46) for a 700ml bottle. As part of its sustainability efforts, Ramsbury Distillery uses recycled glass, grows ingredients on its estate, and operates an on-site reed irrigation system. Earlier this year, Ramsbury added the previously limited edition raspberry and wildflower honey gin to its permanent range.
