Rapper Professor Green and Dragons' Den investor Stephen Bartlett have partnered with Smokehead whisky to produce a limited edition rulebook made for burning. The Islay single malt Scotch brand tapped Professor Green, Bartlett, comedian Adam Rowe and other notable names to author The Smokehead Rulebook, filled with advice given to the collaborators which would have held them back if they had taken it. Two hundred books have been created to be ripped up and set alight, with the smoke used to rinse cocktail glasses. The ‘ignored advice’ provided by collaborator Professor Green is 'A bad idea is better than no idea'. Professor Green said: “I’ve been told plenty of times just to make something and that it doesn’t matter if it’s not totally perfect. That might be good advice for some, but it doesn’t work for me. "The challenge of walking into a studio with no idea for a song and having to come up with one is what spurs me on. Reading the book, I can relate to plenty of the other comments – I think anyone who has fire in their belly will too.” Book owners are requested to set a page alight on a coaster with a glass turned over the slow-burning paper. Each page is handmade and infused with orange, peppercorn and ginger oils. After the smoking has ceased (an effect similar to incense being burnt, according to the brand), drinkers should add ice and Smokehead whisky, with the option of a mixer. The destruction of the pages in the book is a nod to Smokehead’s claim to have ‘ripped up the rule book since day one’. Smokehead ambassador Mikey Sim has also contributed to the rulebook, with the advice he rejected, 'Don’t do anything crazy'. Sim said: “Challenging conventional wisdom and being prepared to rip up the rules is what leads to original thinking. Every contributor to our book has trusted their gut over guidance. "We created Smokehead because we refuse to believe that you need to ‘earn your stripes’ to enjoy a peated whisky. "We can’t wait to see the rules literally being ripped up.” Only 200 rulebooks have been created, and are available to purchase today from smokehead.com.
