Adult ice lolly manufacturer Pops has partnered with Diageo to release Gordon’s Gin-infused popsicles.

Said to be the world’s first Gordon’s Gin popsicle, the new ice lolly is available exclusively in Tesco and has been made using natural ingredients – including gin and lime juice. The popsicles have an abv of 0.5% and are now available in packs of two at Tesco stores for £3 (US$4). This is the second time Pops has partnered with Diageo for one of its products, in July 2017 Pops launched the "world’s first" Pimm’s popsicle. Harry Clarke, Pops co-founder, said: “Following the success of our Pimm’s Pops launching last summer, we are thrilled to be working with Tesco again to bring Gordon’s Pops to supermarkets nationwide.” As well as the Gordon’s and Pimm’s popsicles, Pops also produces Bellini- and Watermelon Martini-inspired ice lollies. Pops launched in 2014 with the release of a Champagne ice lolly. Last year, the brand raised more than £500,000 (US$660,000) through crowdfunding platform Crowdcube to fund expansion of its team, product development and marketing campaigns. The Crowdcube campaign saw over 300 new investors join existing investors such as Fever-Tree’s Charles Rolls and Loyd Grossman. James Rae, co-founder of Pops, said: “The adult ice lolly frozen sub-category saw growth of 17.1% last year. We are thrilled to have new investors joining our journey as we continue to disrupt the frozen aisle.”
