Bacardi-owned gin brand Oxley has been given a packaging overhaul to better reflect its positioning as the “first” cold-distilled gin.The new bottle aims to bring to life the story of Oxley, which is made using a cold distillation method that sees the spirit chilled under a vacuum during its production. Oxley Gin’s new bottle features an ice bucket mould, said to resemble a vacuum, and a colour palate featuring "soft whites, botanical green and pale matt silver". A new neck label notes the date the gin was first created and each bottle has been individually numbered to demonstrate the “small batch production methods of the brand”. Florent Demars, UK brand manager for Oxley Gin, said: “Since the invention of Oxley, the very first cold distilled gin, we have strived to be completely faithful to nature by using the pioneering scientific techniques of sub-zero temperatures. “On a quest for flavour, we have succeeded in what we set out to do and we’re proud to now have a bottle that tells this inspiring story.” With an abv of 47%, the new 750ml bottle is available from The Whisky Exchange for £38.25 (US$49).
