Osena Beverage launches spiked coconut water
US-based Osena Beverage has entered the ‘functional beverage’ space with the launch of its ready-to-drink (RTD) spiked coconut water.
Osena is made using real coconut water that is said to feature naturally occurring electrolytes and zero sugar. Each 354ml can contains 100 calories and clocks in at 5% ABV. Osena was founded by Chris Allen and Vicente Surraco in 2021 on the idea that ‘better-for-you’ options are more important than ever. “We wanted to create something that we thought was missing for those who wanted to enjoy today and feel good about tomorrow,” said Allen. The company quietly launched its first two products, Pure Original and Exotic Pineapple, in the Northeastern region of the US, and has seen a positive response. Surraco added: “Surprisingly, we found that people who may not prefer the taste of coconut water by itself, overwhelmingly enjoyed the refreshing and tropical taste of Osena.” Osena has also announced its commitment to One Percent for the Planet, whose members contribute at least 1% of their annual sales to support environmental causes. Osena has launched its first variety pack, The Islands Collection, which includes three new flavours that showcase the line’s tropical profile: Ripe Mango, Divine Guava and Lush Dragon Fruit. It is priced at US$21.99 for a pack of eight cans. Osena is also available in two single-flavour four-packs: Pure Original and Exotic Pineapple, RRP US$11.99. The full collection is available in-store in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland and nationwide via drinkosena.com. Earlier this year, The Spirits Business looked at the rise of the functional drinking trend.
