Old Curiosity goes pink for Christmas with new gin
Edinburgh’s Old Curiosity Distillery has unveiled a new colour-changing gin for the festive season, flavoured with cinnamon, ginger and cardamom.
Just 500 bottles of the gin, which turns pink when mixed with tonic, have been made available to purchase at an RRP of £49.95 (US$64). “We’re known for creating all manner of weird and wonderful colour-changing gins and we think this one, with its twist on the traditional Christmas colours, may just be our best yet,” said Hamish Martin, director of the Old Curiosity Distillery. “It was a drink which first turned Santa from green to red, so this year his favourite colour will definitely be pink.” Old Curiosity Christmas Gin joins a number of other colour-changing bottlings from the brand, including Apothecary Rose, Lavender & Echinacea, Chamomile & Cornflower, Geranium & Mallow and Damask Rose. Each Old Curiosity gin is made using botanicals grown, picked, dried and infused at the 7.5-acre Secret Herb Garden at the foot of the Pentland Hills on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Old Curiosity Christmas Gin is now available to purchase from Harrods and via the distillery’s website.
