KFC and Dead Man’s Fingers create spiced rum
Fast-food chain KFC has teamed up with Dead Man’s Fingers to create a limited edition, ‘finger liquor good’ spiced rum.
The new rum blends KFC’s secret 11 herbs and spices with Dead Man’s Fingers Spiced Rum. To mark the launch, on 1 and 2 September, legal-drinking-age consumers will have the chance to try the rum at a pop-up chicken and rum shack in Margate, UK, with free chicken on offer. A bartender will be shaking the new rum into cocktails to allow consumers the chance to sample the new release. KFC is keeping its blend of 11 herbs and spices secret, but did note it includes black and white pepper. Tasting notes for the KFC x Dead Man’s Fingers Rum include caramel, vanilla, treacle toffee and nutmeg. The rum has been designed to be mixed with cola or in a cocktail. It is available to purchase from The Drop Store or via Amazon, priced at RRP £25 (US$32). Dead Man's Fingers is owned by Halewood Artisanal Spirits. The brand has been busy developing new products over the past year, including a Tequila-based coffee liqueur and ready-to-drink Margarita in November last year. That same month, the brand moved into the low-and-no category with the launch of its 0.0% spiced 'rum'.
