Katherine Jenkins to release Cygnet G&T at Six Nations
Classical singer Katherine Jenkins OBE will launch a canned Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin & Tonic at the Principality Stadium, during the Guinness Six Nations Wales vs Italy rugby match.
Jenkins will make pitch-side appearance before the match on Saturday 16 March to announce the launch. The ready-to-drink gin and tonic will be available thereafter across select bars in the Principality Stadium. Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin & Tonic will come in 250ml cans, which sit at 7% ABV. Each 100ml serve contains 22 calories. Jenkins said: “I am so excited to be launching our Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin & Tonic this weekend to the home-crowd at Principality Stadium in partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU). “My career started here in 2003 when I proudly sang ‘Mae hen wlad fy nhadau’ on the pitch, and it means the world to me to have the same level of support from the WRU today as it did 20 years ago. “The home of Welsh rugby will always have a special place in my heart, which is why it feels like such a full circle moment to be announcing that my Cygnet Gin collection is now permanently available at the stadium, across the bars this Super Saturday and beyond." Cygnet Gin launched six months ago, when Jenkins exclusively revealed the brand to The Spirits Business. Cygnet is available in a number of establishments: Isabel Mayfair, Searcys, The Rosewood Hotel, and all Caprice Group venues, including The Ivy Collection restaurants throughout the UK. Retail-wise, the brand is available at Waitrose and John Lewis stores throughout the UK, and Marks & Spencer stories in Wales. The gin brand offers two variants: Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin, bottled at 40% ABV. It is made with 12 botanicals, including angelica root, camomile, juniper and orange peel. Cygnet 22 sits at a higher ABV of 44%. Made with 22 botanicals, the recipe incorporates Manuka honey, chosen by Jenkins. Additional botanicals include white peppercorns, bee pollen and sea salt.
