Kah Tequila brings brick-shaped bottle to UK bars
Amber Beverage Group-owned Kah Tequila has launched its brick-shaped bottle in the UK on-trade as part of its European roll-out.
Currently sold in a skull-shaped bottle, Kah Tequila will roll out the brick shape from mid-autumn in UK bars and restaurants. The brick-shaped format was launched exclusively into the off-trade through supermarket Tesco in late summer 2022. The rectangular bottle is being rolled out across Europe currently. Limited amounts of the skull format will still be available via specialist retailers, but Amber Beverage Group plans to ‘unify the brand under a single, consistent bottle style’ in both the on- and off-trade. The taller bottle is said to be easier for bartenders to use. The transition to the new bottle will be completed in 2024. The move coincides with preparations for Halloween on 31 October and Day of the Dead celebrations in November, with the brand recommending spooky serves for cocktail menus. The 40% ABV Kah Tequila is made with 100% Blue Weber agave. The range includes blanco, reposado and añejo Tequilas. Kah was the number-one ultra-premium Tequila in the UK grocery channel from October 2022 to March 2023, NielsenIQ data showed. Amber Beverage Group said the performance was due to ‘buoyant’ sales in Tesco stores and online at tesco.com. The company also owns Rooster Rojo Tequila, which unveiled its first mezcal in February this year. Amber Beverage Group saw net sales grow by 17.9% in 2022, driven by its Tequila and Irish whiskey brands. New additions to the Tequila range in the past year include the ‘smoky’ Rooster Rojo Amuhado and Kah Extra Añejo.
