Jameson teams up with Fourpure for new Caskmates whiskey

by Amy Hopkins

Jameson has expanded its range of beer barrel-finished Irish whiskeys with a bottling made in collaboration with London brewery Fourpure.

Joining the Jameson Caskmates range, the limited edition whiskey will launch as a UK exclusive this month. It has been finished in Shapeshifter West Coast IPA-seasoned barrels, producing a flavour of “tropical fruits, sweet clementine and hops”. “The marriage of craft is at the heart of this collaboration and taps into an existing consumer appetite for craft beer, which has been voted the number one drinks trend for the fourth consecutive year [CGA],” said James Bremner, on-trade channel director for Pernod Ricard UK. “The existing Caskmates range has successfully recruited a new and younger consumer to the brand, as well as the overall category, and this limited edition will go further in our quest to making Irish whiskey the number one choice for today’s drinkers.” Jameson Caskmates Fourpure Limited Edition is bottled at 40% ABV and will be available for £30 (US$36) from Venus RTM and drinksupermarket.com. It follows the UK launch of Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition in 2015 and Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition in 2018. Last month, the brand launched two limited edition Caskmates expressions in the US.
