Irishman Vintage Cask 2023 goes on sale
Amber Beverage Group-owned Walsh Whiskey has released the 2023 edition of The Irishman Vintage Cask.
A total of 8,400 bottles have been created, with 1,200 bottles allocated to the US, and the remaining 7,200 destined for the rest of the world, including Canada, Ireland, France, the UK, South Africa and Asia. The 2023 edition is the 15th annual release since 2008, when it became the first triple-distilled cask-strength Irish whiskey to launch in more than 50 years. Bernard Walsh, CEO of the Walsh Whiskey Distillery, said: “The Irishman Cask Strength is a labour of love. This blend of purely premium, aged single malt and single pot still, recreates one of Irish whiskey’s greatest 19th-century traditions, which The Irishman first brought back in 2008. “This year’s proud offering is bottled at 55.3% ABV. The 2023 edition of The Irishman Vintage Cask is a strong, complex and inviting exploration.” The Irishman 2023 Vintage Cask combines triple-distilled, aged single malt and aged single pot still whiskeys. The whiskey was aged in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, and bottled at cask strength. The expression will retail for RRP €145 (US$155). Tasting notes include aromas of orchard fruits, vanilla and nuts, leading to peach, apple blossom, fig and honey on the palate. The finish is described as having oak spices and toasted almond flavours. Luxembourg-based Amber Beverage Group acquired Walsh Whiskey for an undisclosed amount in November last year. Walsh Whiskey's portfolio also includes the Writers' Tears Irish whiskey brand.
