Highclere Castle Gin grows in the US
Highclere Castle Gin is optimistic about 2024 after new distributor partnerships have resulted in US sales rising ‘well above national norms’.
The US is the largest market for the English gin brand. Highclere Castle Gin recently partnered with Connecticut Distributors Inc, a division of Breakthru Beverage, and has seen sales up by 36% from projections. Ohio sales were 65% more than expected while the Maryland/DC market was up by 150%. The gin brand is also working with Green Light Distribution in Texas and Florida, and has been approved for a listing in 100 Virginia stores. The brand says it expects its latest partnerships with distributor chains in New Jersey and California to build on this success. The gin is featured in 28 US markets and nine countries. It will launch in Italy and Canada in the first quarter of the year, with plans to expand into the Caribbean and central America later in the year. The company will also produce a 50ml miniature for US hotels in the second quarter of the year. The brand, which launched in 2019 and is led by co-founder and CEO Adam von Gootkin and Lord and Lady Carnarvon, is made using botanicals from Highclere Castle in England, the setting for the TV series Downton Abbey. The brand’s flagship London Dry Gin has an ABV of 43.5% and retails for £34.99/US$29.99. The brand was recently one of only 15 UK brands selected by the British Department of Business and Trade to exhibit at ProWein.
