Hide owner launches non-alcoholic apéritif Everleaf

The owner of London bar Hide and conservation biologist, Paul Mathew, has created a non-alcoholic apéritif brand, called Everleaf.

Everleaf is made from 18 different plants, all “sourced responsibly from nature” and designed to deliver “unrivalled texture” in the non-alcoholic category. Ingredients used to make Everleaf include vanilla and saffron “for richness”, gentian and iris “for bitterness and earthy warmth”, and vetiver and orange blossom “for freshness and vibrancy”. The product is recommended mixed with soda or tonic water, or as a base for cocktails. It can also be sipped neat over ice. Everleaf is available in the on-trade and from Sainsbury’s stores at an RRP of £18 (US$23.54) per 500ml bottle. Mathew, Everleaf founder, said: “In Everleaf, I wanted to make an exceptional non-alcoholic product, firstly to give people more choice when they don’t necessarily want to drink, but also to reflect the concept of sustainability – sustainable consumption as well as ingredients that are responsibly sourced. “The fact Sainsbury’s has got behind us as a small, bartender-owned brand is testament to the growing desire for credible, non-alcoholic alternatives.” Earlier this year, Seedlip revealed a new brand, called Aecorn Apéritifs, which is thought to be the world's first zero-abv apéritif range.
