Cognac brand Hennessy is releasing 500 bottles of its Paradis Golden Edition on NFT marketplace Blockbar.

The limited edition Hennessy Paradis Golden Edition is presented in a golden decanter featuring exclusive artwork from stylist and jewellery designer Veneda Carter. Carter is 'renowned for her work with gold', according to the Cognac brand. Paradis Golden will first be available in a 700ml format, followed by the release of the ‘magnum’ edition – the 1,500ml format. It will be distributed exclusively on Blockbar. “We are delighted Hennessy has chosen to partner with Blockbar yet again to exclusively release Hennessy Paradis Golden Edition,” said Dov Falic, CEO and co-founder of Blockbar. “Blockbar is at the forefront of 'phygital' gifting this holiday season and we’re excited to offer our community this unique offering combing an exclusive artwork by Veneda Carter with personalised gift messages and an investable, asset backed NFT of Hennessy Paradis Golden Edition.” Hennessy Paradis was conceived in 1979 by the brand’s master blender at the time, Maurice Fillioux. It was created in tribute to symphonic music, with Fillioux comparing the liquid to a blend of a ‘symphonic orchestra’. The Cognac presents notes of dried rose and honeysuckle on the nose, followed by truffles and soft spices on the palate. Carter's 3D animated NFT artwork presents an ‘ethereal desert-scape’, with her commenting that the design is “a bounty of nature polished by human hands”. “Many of us have felt its spirit and we long to understand it, a harmony that binds us,” she added. Upon purchasing the Hennessy Paradis NFT, the physical bottle will be reserved by Blockbar and a record of authenticity will be kept on the ‘blockchain’, as a digital certificate of ownership. Hennessy Paradis Golden Edition will be available to purchase at 10am (EST) on Friday 23 September, on a first come, first served basis. Priced at RRP US$2,500, each NFT can be bought was ETH or a credit card. Earlier this month, the LVMH-owned Cognac recruited actor Paolo Sorrentino for its new Hennessy VSOP advert. Blockbar recently revealed it had reached US$7 billion in sales in its first year, with revenue expected to more than triple in its second year.
