Havana Club gets colourful for summer

Cuban rum brand Havana Club has unveiled a colourful, limited edition bottle design to celebrate the summer.

The eye-catching bottle of Havana Club Original Añejo 3 Años sets the stage for the brand’s 2024 summer season. Crafted in collaboration with creative agency Golgotha, the bottle is a vibrant homage to Cuban culture and Havana Club’s commitment to creativity. The label tells a tale of Cuban heritage and captures the lively essence of Havana through a motif of vintage stickers and holographic effects that echo the city’s colours. Golgotha enlisted French photographer Raphaël Lugassy to capture unique images that embody the new Havana Club release. “Havana Club defines the summer, with its Havana Club Original Añejo 3 Años cocktails reminiscent of sundowners and good times with friends,” said Jules Ferrer, experience brand manager. “This year, we’re excited to infuse warmth and good times into a unique design for our beloved summer limited edition bottle, which is guaranteed to create a season of memorable celebrations, courtesy of Havana Club. “We’re thrilled to bring a taste of Cuba’s vibrant culture to summer drinking occasions across the globe – from our island home to the shores of Europe.” The bottle, which retails for €17.50 (US$19), will be available in the on- and off-trade from June in Cuba and more than 20 markets, including France, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Portugal, Switzerland and Greece. Pernod Ricard acquired the rum brand in 1994. In December 2023, it received an image boost with a new design to modernise its portfolio. CEO Christian Barré spoke to The Spirits Business last year about the impact that the US-Cuba trade embargo has on the rum brand’s business.
