Glenturret reveals 2024 core range
Lalique Group-owned The Glenturret Distillery has unveiled its 2024 core collection of eight single malts.
Created by The Glenturret's whisky maker, Bob Dalgarno, the 2024 collection 'embodies the distillery's core values of provenance, prowess and passion'. “This year has been momentous for us at The Glenturret, marked by the opening of Aberturret Estate House and the launch of Aberturret Gin this spring. A major highlight, however, is the unveiling of our new 2024 release," said Jennie Baernreuther, managing director at The Glenturret. "Bob and the team have crafted eight outstanding whiskies, with an exciting new distillery-only exclusive 14 Years Old." The 2024 Releases include eight single malts from the Highland distillery, ranging from non-age statement Triple Wood and seven- to 30-year-old whiskies. The Glenturret Triple Wood has been aged in a combination of Bourbon, American oak and Sherry-seasoned European oak casks. The expression is offered at 44% ABV and retails for £62 (US$81). For 2024, The Glenturret is offering two Peat Smoked expressions: a seven-year-old, bottled at 46% ABV and retailing for £62 (US$81), and a 10-year-old, bottled at 48.4% ABV with an RRP of £67 (US$87). The 12-year-old single malt is aged in American and European oak casks with an oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry influence. Bottled at 46.4% ABV, the expression retails for £70 (US$91). Only available at the distillery, the 14-year-old Peat Smoked is limited to 1,800 bottles and offered at 48% ABV for £150 (US$195). To finish the core range, the 15-year-old is bottled at 50.8% and has an RRP of £165 (US$215). As part of 'The Extremely Scarce' premium range, The Glenturret has released a 25-year-old single malt, limited to 210 bottles and offered at 41% ABV and £1,400 (US$1,320), and a 30-year-old expression limited to 300 bottles, presented at 40.6% ABV and retailing for £2,100 (US$2,735). The 2024 Releases are now available on the distillery's website and at selected global retailers. Established in 1763, The Glenturret is Scotland's oldest operational whisky distillery. In 2019, Silvio Denz, owner of Lalique Group, and Hansjorg Wyss acquired the distillery. They sought to establish The Glenturret as a renowned single malt producer instead of making whisky mainly for blends.
