Glen Grant launches 25YO and 30YO whiskies

Campari Group-owned The Glen Grant has unveiled The Glass House Collection, which includes 25 and 30-year-old whiskies.

The range brings together the oldest aged expressions in the distillery's permanent collection: The Glen Grant 21, 25 and 30-year-old single malts. Both the 25 and 30-year-old single malts are new additions to the distillery’s lineup. The collection is intended to celebrate the distillery’s 180 years of whisky making. It was inspired by James 'The Major' Grant, the distillery's founder who would bring back flowers and plants from his voyages around the world, and protect and nurture them in his Victorian-inspired glasshouse in Scotland. The collection marks the final release under the stewardship of the brand's master distiller Dennis Malcolm OBE, who is set to retire at the end of the month. Malcolm worked closely with his successor Greig Stables to create the collection. Stables said: "Working alongside Dennis for nearly two decades has been an incredible journey and I'm deeply grateful for his insight and guidance. “As I become master distiller, I carry with me the lessons learned and the guiding vision imparted on this journey. I'm honoured to lead The Glen Grant into this new chapter and am excited and enthused for what is to come. “Now as we introduce these rare and aged whiskies, I am thrilled we can showcase how exceptionally The Glen Grant spirit ages over time, maintaining its character and integrity. In honour of the launch and the legacy of Dennis, I'd like to raise a toast to him with our Double Gold award-winning 25-year-old." The three whiskies have each been matured in American oak Bourbon barrels and oloroso Sherry casks, in the distillery's oldest traditional stone dunnage warehouse. They are said to ‘represent a journey through the cycle of daylight within the glasshouse’. Bottled at 46% ABV, Glen Grant 21-year-old represents the glasshouse's first light and has tropical fruit and creamy butter notes. The 25-year-old represents the light of golden hour when the sun sets. It has an ABV of 46% and dried stone fruit and toffee notes. Lastly, The Glen Grant 30-year-old represents the period when twilight descends and the glasshouse is bathed in moonlight. Sitting at 48% ABV, its profile is said to feature ‘intricate layers of oak, woven with hints of nectarine, honey, and dried fruit’. The Glasshouse Collection is available in select markets worldwide, including the US, UK and Asia beginning in 2024. The 21-year-old retails for US$360, the 25-year-old for US$1,000 and the 30-year-old for US$3,000.
