Gibson’s launches pink gin
Gibson’s has joined the ever-growing pink gin army with its own colourful iteration flavoured with strawberries and rose petals.
Owned by French drinks group La Martiniquaise, Gibson’s Pink is also made with botanicals including juniper, coriander and angelica. Constance Descamps, Gibson’s international senior brand manager, said: “Extending its portfolio with this new pink variant, Gibson’s seeks to meet all consumers’ needs with a complete and consistent range. “Gibson’s Pink is the perfect balance of strength, smoothness and flavour notes.” Bottled at 37.5% abv, Gibson’s Pink will be available globally in both on-trade and off-trade premises. Today, The Spirits Business revealed that Gordon’s Pink has sold 1.21 million nine-litre cases in 2019, according to IWSR data supplied by brand owner Diageo. It means Gordon’s Pink has become a million-case selling brand in under two years. Last year, pink gin was hailed for increasing flavoured gin sales in the UK – a pattern that is expected to continue in 2019. Gin sales in the UK were valued at £1.9 billion (US$2.4bn) in 2018, according to the Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA), with sales bolstered by the growing popularity of pink and flavoured variants.
