Frapin expands range with 15-year-old Cognac
Cognac maker Frapin has added a 15-year-old vintage to its Trésors du Château collection, created by cellar master Patrice Piveteau.
Bottled at a cask strength of 45.3% abv, Frapin 15 Years is a blend of eaux-de-vie from both humid and dry cellars, giving it “roundness and richness” at the same time as “finesse and elegance”. As with all Cognacs created by Frapin, the expression is single estate, meaning it has been created exclusively using grapes grown on its 240-hectare Grande Champagne estate. Harvest, distillation and ageing processes all take place at the Frapin domaine. The new addition's aroma is described as “complex” with notes of freshly sawn wood, vanilla, black tea and dried flowers. The palate is said to offer flavours of dried fruits, toast and a “lingering finish with touches of spice”. Frapin 15 Year Old is distributed by Louis Latour Agencies.
