Frapin creates new Cognac for mixing
Cognac Frapin is targeting summer cocktail serves with the launch of a new expression: Frapin 1270.
The Cognac is made from grapes grown in Frapin’s 240-hectare single-estate vineyard in Grande Champagne. It has been aged in Frapin’s humid cellars – first in new oak barrels for six months before moving to older casks for an extended period of maturation. The Cognac does not carry an age classification. “The result is a Cognac with great roundness and fruitiness, perfectly suited to spur-of-the-moment apéritifs, served over ice, or forming a long drink by mixing well with tonic or sparkling water,” the brand said. “It is also the new best friend for the bartender, being the perfect base for the finest Cognac cocktails.” Frapin carries an RRP of £42 (US$59) per 700ml bottle and is being imported into the UK by Louis Latour Agencies. Last year, Frapin launched a new look for its VSOP expression, featuring a taller and narrower bottle than the original.
