De Kuyper launches six RTS cocktails
Dutch liqueur brand De Kuyper has created six ready-to-serve (RTS) tipples as part of its strategy to ‘own the cocktail’.
The six new RTS drinks are as follows: the Espresso Martini Cocktail (14.5% ABV), the Passionfruit Martini Cocktail (12% ABV), the Piña Colada Cocktail (14.5% ABV), the Strawberry Daiquiri Cocktail (14.5% ABV), the Cosmopolitan Cocktail (14.5% ABV), and the Clover Club Cocktail (12.5% ABV). The range will initially be available in the Netherlands, before it is rolled out to additional markets. Each cocktail will come in a 500ml bottle, priced at €11.99 (US$13) each. CEO Mark de Witte said: “We want to democratise cocktails and offer everybody the chance to enjoy their favourite cocktail at any time. “According to our guiding thought, we’ve introduced several innovations in recent years like De Kuyper Fizzy RTD, De Kuyper Zero, De Kuyper Syrups, and De Kuyper Batched Cocktails. “Our new ready-to-serve cocktails are the perfect addition to our cocktail proposition and vision to ‘own the cocktail’.” The brand noted that since 2019, at-home cocktail consumption has doubled, driven by the Covid-19 pandemic. Each serve in the new collection can be enjoyed in two ways: either shake the cocktails with ice to create a ‘bar-like experience’, or pour the chilled drink into a glass. The brand's Espresso Martini Cocktail, for example, contains a mix of espresso, De Kuyper Crème de Café Liqueur, and vodka. Meanwhile, the Passionfruit Martini Cocktail combines the brand's Passionfruit Liqueur with vanilla and lime. Earlier this week, Google Trends data showed searches for ‘how to drink Prosecco Martini’, also known as a Passion Fruit Martini, had risen by 312% over the last 12 months, according to RTD company The Cocktail Co. The Pornstar Martini is the second most-searched for Cocktail on Google, behind the Margarita. Last year, Diageo sold its peach-flavoured schnapps brand, Archers, to De Kuyper Royal Distillers for an undisclosed sum. The Spirits Business recently compiled a list of the world's biggest-selling liqueur brands, following the publication of The Brand Champions 2023 report.
