Cointreau creates bottled cocktails
Cocktail Twists is a new ready-to-drink (RTD) range from orange liqueur brand Cointreau.
The range has launched with two flavours, a Lime Daiquiri and a Berry Cosmo, both developed by Cointreau’s master distiller Carole Quinton. “In creating these RTD cocktails, I got to blend my distilling expertise with the craft of mixology. It was exciting to explore the nuances of different flavours and figure out fresh ways for people to enjoy Cointreau,” said Quinton. The Lime Daiquiri blends premium rum, lime peel distillate, lime juice concentrate and Cointreau, while the Berry Cosmo features cranberry and lemon juice concentrates and hibiscus extracts. Both expressions are made at Cointreau’s distillery in Angers, France, and are free from artificial flavours and colours. “Cointreau's rich history is steeped in innovation, from our origin as the quintessential orange liqueur to the introduction of pioneering advertising techniques,” said Clémence Gallet, Cointreau’s executive director. “Our new ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail line is a premium expression of this consumer drinking habit. It's designed to invite new and seasoned connoisseurs to savour the art of the Cointreau at any cocktail occasion, in an elevated and practical way.” The Cointreau Cocktail Twists bottles are made of aluminium with a copper-style finish, following a growing trend in sustainable packaging. The resealable twist cap is 100% recycled and recyclable. Bottled at 15% ABV, each 200ml package serves one to two people and retails for £6 (US$8). Cointreau’s parent firm, Rémy Cointreau, saw sales drop by 15.6% in the first three months of 2024. In its results, the firm stated it planned to boost sales by pushing cocktails made with Cointreau.
