Bullards unveils new gin and store

UK-based gin producer Bullards Spirits has extended its portfolio with a fifth gin, launching alongside its new flagship store.

Pineapple, Ginger & Lime has been created to coincide with the unveiling of the new Bullards store in London, which has opened in Covent Garden this month. The crafting of the gin has taken inspiration from the history of Covent Garden, which once hosted the ‘most prominent’ fruit and vegetable market, with pineapples said to be a symbol of prosperity and hospitality. Bullards owner Russell Evans said: "We are thrilled to launch our latest gin to add to our portfolio of sustainable independent spirits. We’ve chosen pineapple as our base due to its rich history with Covent Garden to coincide with our new shop opening this month.” The gin combines roasted pineapple with ginger and lime, boasting tropical, citrus notes. It was crafted with botanicals of juniper, coriander, roasted pineapple, lime leaf, ginger root and pink peppercorns, and is recommended served over ice with a dash of ginger ale and slice of lime. Consumers can purchase the gin from the brand's outlets in Norwich or Convent Garden for £40 (US$48.75) per 700ml bottle. The brand's new store, located in Henrietta Street, will be in place of the former store, which was also based in Covent Garden. The larger flagship site will remain as a joint initiative with Bullards' partner Double Dutch tonics. The recipe for the brand’s Pineapple Collins has been outlined below.
Ingredients:
50ml Bullards Pineapple, Ginger & Lime Gin 25ml Pineapple syrup (optional for added sweetness) 25ml Lime juice 50-100ml Tonic water Ice Pineapple slices Method: Fill a tall glass with ice to chill. Add the pineapple slices to a cocktail shaker along with Bullards Pineapple, Ginger & Lime gin and pineapple syrup. Muddle together. Add a scoop of ice and shake. Pour into the ice filled glass. Top with tonic. In 2017, the company launched its Bullards Strawberry & Black Pepper Gin.
