Black Bull 30YO unveils redesign
Spirits specialist Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky has revealed a new look for its Black Bull 30-year-old blend, created in partnership with golfer Sir Nick Faldo.
Released as part of the limited edition series, Tale of Two Legends, the newly designed Black Bull 30-year-old follows last year's expression, which was globally sold out. The 30-year-old blend is double matured in Sherry oak casks, offered at 50% ABV, and combines 'some of the finest aged spirits' from the Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky portfolio. The rare premium blend offers rich fruit cake notes alongside the flavour of almonds and subtle spices on the palate. The packaging is fully recyclable, using organic inks and environmentally friendly caps. Upgraded to include a box that showcases the bottle in its entirety, the design plays on a black-to-clear gradient from top to bottom to show its deep, rich colour palette in the final third of the bottle. Since Duncan Taylor's 2009 relaunch of the Black Bull brand, first introduced in 1864, the blended Scotch whisky has received multiple industry accolades. Evan Robertson, director of product development for Duncan Taylor, commented: “We’ve set ambitious targets throughout the company to reduce our carbon footprint and carefully map out each brand with that in mind. Since the launch of ‘The Tale of Two Legends’, we’ve had incredible feedback about the liquid and won numerous awards. "It is fitting that we elevate the Black Bull identity with a striking, luxurious, and environmentally friendly packaging, underpinning our goals going forward.” The Tale of Two Legends portfolio was created to represent significant milestone events in Faldo’s golf career. The whisky's age statement is a nod to the 30 wins he amassed on the European Tour and reflects his world number one ranking for 97 weeks. Faldo said: “This limited edition Black Bull 30-year-old holds a particularly special place in my heart. The youngest spirit selected from the Duncan Taylor vaults began a distinguished maturation in the year I won my third Open Championship title at Muirfield [in 1992]. It’s great to see the new luxury packaging, which complements the liquid inside.” Now available worldwide, the whisky retails for £300 (US$389) for a 700ml bottle. Earlier this year, Duncan Taylor released four limited Black Bull whiskies, including a 55-year-old Scotch blend. Other significant releases this year from the Aberdeenshire-based spirits specialist include two Macallan Rarest Reserves and a 54-year-old Highland Park single malt.
